Finally, we have Pinterest as an Android app. The visual bookmarking tool which is also one of the most popular social networking sites , allows you to pin sites and share pictures and repin them. Since its launch in 2011, Pinterest was only available on the web and through the iphone app. Users however wanted Pinterest to roll out an Android app.
On Tuesday, Pinterest announced three apps, the first one being an Android offering. This Pinterest for Android app can work on all Android smartphones and tablets. You can also check it out and Google Play Store and download them for free. The app will also be available in Android appstore for Kindle Fire users.
Pinterest has been growing meteorically in the past months, rising from 1.03 million unique monthly users in the United States in August 2011 to 17.8 million in February n 2012. Research firm Comscore noted that in July, Pinterest had 23.3 million unique users in the United States. With the easy access of Pinterest on your Android phone and tablets, the number is sure to grow manifold.
