Samsung Galaxy Fold flexible Screen Technology

The technology behind the ‘skin’ of Samsung Galaxy Skin are the atom-thick layers of ‘graphene’ sandwiched together, protecting a layer of liquid crystal ‘screen’.  The material called ‘polyimide substrate’ will put glass out of business, or at least threaten to do so.  The skin is bendable, rollable offers amazing image quality, and yet can withstand blows from a hammer.

Though Samsung Galaxy Skin is going to be as slim as Galaxy S2 but the display will double the length when unfolded. So instead of the glass display, the AMOLED flexible screen of Samsung Galaxy Skin makes use of this polymide substrate derived from plastic.  The flexible display has the power to wrap around a 1-inch cylinder, according to studies.  The bending of the glass is the core polymercore technology, by which it can result electric signals but consume low battery and give vibrant, bright display. The AMOLED flexible displays are being manufactured by a company in Japan, called Ube Kosan, which Samsung has tied up with. Graphene is the most durable material in the world, said to be 200 times stronger than steel.

Polymide is a polymer which can replace glass and alloys like steel rendering it uncrackable. The Galaxy Skin was designed and developed by Hye Yeon You and Prof. Haeseong J. Jee and it was first displayed at an event
at Hongik University, on June 10.

Another piece of cutting edge technology in Samsung Galaxy Skin is the incorporation of sensor sensitivity which is as good as Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC).  This technology can be used to note the various changes in weather and temperature fluctuations including change in color enabling charging of solar battery, concept comparable to photosynthesis.  Samsung Galaxy Skin can also be used as a mouse apart from being just a smartphone.

The flexible feature of Samsung Galaxy Skin can also transform it into a watch clock on a table and can be also worn in the hand.Besides, it can also act as a smart projector. The phone also comes equipped with 3D effects.  Samsung Galaxy Skin is not just a smartphone, it moves up to the rank of a Genius Phone.
