Redmi is preparing to unveil the Redmi Note 17 and Redmi Note 17 Pro smartphones in China on July 14. Ahead of the launch, details about the upcoming Note series have started surfacing, revealing key specifications of the standard model and hints about other variants in the lineup.
Redmi Note 17 specifications revealed ahead of launch

According to tipster Bald Panda on Weibo, the Redmi Note 17 will feature a 7-inch Samsung E4 Pro flat display with a 1080p resolution. The smartphone is said to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset and could pack an 8,000mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging.
Earlier official teasers had already confirmed some display and battery-related details of the Redmi Note 17. The phone will feature a 120Hz high refresh rate display with up to 1,200 nits global brightness. It will also support 22.5W reverse charging, allowing users to charge other compatible devices.

The tipster also revealed that the Redmi Note 17 series could include multiple processors. The lineup is said to feature the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 and MediaTek Dimensity 7500 chipsets across different models. The Snapdragon 6s Gen 4-powered variant has already appeared on Geekbench, suggesting another Note 17 model could be in development.
The Redmi Note 17 and another Snapdragon-powered model are expected to feature 50-megapixel dual rear camera setups. Meanwhile, the higher-end Redmi Note 17 Pro Max is tipped to feature the MediaTek Dimensity 7500 chipset, a 200-megapixel primary camera, a 1.5K resolution OLED display and a larger 10,000mAh battery. This model may reportedly launch separately in August instead of arriving alongside the July 14 debut.
The leak also mentions a Redmi Note 17R model. Unlike other devices in the series that are expected to feature OLED panels, the Note 17R is said to come with an LCD display. This variant could be related to the upcoming Redmi 17 5G for global markets.
