Xiaomi is reportedly preparing to expand its flagship tablet lineup with the Pad 9 series, which is expected to debut alongside the Xiaomi 18 family in China this September. However, before those devices arrive, the company may have one final addition to its current generation. We have come across a leaked real-world image that appears to reveal the Xiaomi Pad 8s Pro, giving us an early look at both its name and several key specifications.
Xiaomi Pad 8s Pro specifications leaked
The image shows the tablet’s “About device” page, confirming the branding as “Xiaomi Pad 8S Pro 12.5.” It also reveals that the device will feature a 12.5-inch display, 16GB of RAM, and a massive 12,000mAh battery. Another notable detail is the presence of Xiaomi’s in-house Xring O3 chipset, suggesting that the company is positioning the tablet as a premium offering.
The image further indicates that the Pad 8s Pro will come equipped with a 50-megapixel primary rear camera paired with a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. On the front, it is expected to feature a 32-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.
The software version shown in the image points to HyperOS 4.0, although the exact Android version remains unclear. The tablet also appears to be running the Chinese software build, hinting that the photographed unit is an early prototype or pre-production device. There’s no clarity whether it will ever make it to the global market.
Expected Launch timeframe
Rumours suggest Xiaomi will unveil its first wide foldable smartphone, tentatively called the Xiaomi 18 Fold, in China this August. The announcement is expected to take place in the latter half of the month, as Redmi is already scheduled to launch the Redmi K100 Pro series on August 11.
The Xiaomi 18 Fold is also said to feature the Xring O3 chipset. Since the same processor appears in the leaked Pad 8s Pro image, there is a strong possibility that Xiaomi could introduce both devices at the same launch event. If that happens, the Pad 8s Pro is likely to become the final member of the Pad 8 series before the company shifts its focus to the upcoming Pad 9 lineup.
