According to reports, Honor, the Chinese smartphone company, is rumored to be making a comeback in the Indian market. Despite previous announcements of its exit from India, Honor confirmed last year that it would continue its operations in the country. Speculations about Honor’s return have gained traction with the recent discovery of a registered trademark associated with the company. Additionally, it is speculated that Madhav Sheth, the former head of Realme India, may have joined Honor, as suggested by his Twitter bio.
Earlier this year, there were reports that Honor, which was previously a sub-brand of Huawei, was planning to reenter the Indian market. These speculations seem to be gaining credibility as tipster Mukul Sharma shared a screenshot revealing Honor’s new trademark filing for “Honor for Knights” in India, specifically under the mobiles and smartphones category. The leaked screenshot also suggests that Madhav Sheth is the proprietor, aligning with previous rumors of his potential move to Honor India. While Sheth confirmed his resignation from Realme on Twitter, he has not officially addressed his association with Honor India.
However, a notable change in Sheth’s Twitter bio raises further speculation, as it now reads, “When is the KNIGHT coming?” This alludes to Sheth’s potential involvement with Honor’s recent trademark. The filing date for the trademark is mentioned as June 13, a day before Sheth announced his exit from Realme India.
In another tweet, tipster Sharma shared a GIF with the word “August” written on it, suggesting that Honor’s upcoming smartphone might be announced in India next month. While neither the company nor Sheth has confirmed these speculations, it will be intriguing to see Honor’s plans for the Indian market under the new leadership.
