According to a popular digital blogger, Digital Chat Station, Honor is preparing to launch a new foldable phone featuring a slimmer body and a large 2K eye-protecting screen. This could be the rumored Honor Magic V Slim, which may break cover in October this year.
In addition to this upcoming device, Honor is also planning to introduce the Magic Flip folding screen mobile phone and the GT branded model in 2024. To be specific, the Magic Flip may launch by spring 2024, which means in the first quarter of the coming year. The leaker also mentioned that Honor has a new phone with an LCD display in the works, which may debut within Q3 2023. As far as the GT model is concerned, DCS revealed in the comments section of the Weibo post that it will be dubbed the Honor GT 100.
Currently, the market offers mainstream vertically folding mobile phones such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4, Huawei P50 Pocket, and OPPO Find N2 Flip. These models prioritize a slim and lightweight design along with a stylish appearance, while also increasing the size of the external screen. However, these design choices present challenges in terms of battery life.
For instance, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 is equipped with a Snapdragon 8+ processor but only features a 3700mAh battery. The Huawei P50 Pocket, on the other hand, sports a Snapdragon 888 processor with a 4000mAh battery, and the OPPO Find N2 Flip boasts a Dimensity 9000+ processor with a 4300mAh battery.
Finding a balance between thinness, performance, and battery life will be a key highlight for the Honor Magic Flip folding screen phone. Official information about the Honor Magic Flip has not been announced yet, but updates will be closely monitored and reported as they become available.
