Last month, iQOO unveiled the iQOO 12 and iQOO 12 Pro smartphones in the Chinese market. The vanilla model has also been launched in some Southeast Asian regions, like Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand. While the brand is now gearing up to launch its next-generation Neo-series of sub-flagship phones this month in China, a new leak reveals that the brand is also working on yet another flagship phone called the iQOO 12s.
iQOO 12s specifications: preliminary details
iQOO is reportedly planning to launch a new flagship smartphone, the iQOO 12s, in the first quarter of 2024. The name of the device indicates that it could be an incremental upgrade over the iQOO 12.
According to a Chinese leaker, iQOO will focus on reintroducing the Samsung’s 2K display screen. The iQOO 12 is reportedly equipped with a Visionox display for those who don’t know.
The company is said to be evaluating the Xiaomi 14 Pro’s 50-megapixel primary camera with variable aperture to add it to the upcoming iQOO 12s. It is also said to be equipped with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera.
The battery capacity is expected to be 5200mAh with a 120W fast-charging capability, all within a thickness not exceeding 9mm. Despite the enhancements, iQOO will likely maintain its commitment to providing increased specifications without a corresponding price increase. The starting price for these models is anticipated to be 3799 Yuan ($530).
We believe iQOO is likely to take at least six months to launch the iQOO 12s. Hence, it is likely that the 12s may debut by the end of March or in April.
