iQOO 16 may pair an 8,500mAh battery with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro

The iQOO 16 has surfaced in yet another leak, giving us a better idea of what the company’s next flagship could offer. This time, reliable tipster Digital Chat Station has shared details about the phone’s audio hardware, camera, battery, and several premium features that are currently being tested on an engineering prototype.

iQOO 16 engineering unit tipped with premium flagship hardware

According to the tipster, the iQOO 16 engineering unit is powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset. The prototype is said to feature high-grade symmetrical 1115-series stereo speakers for an improved multimedia experience. It is also testing a 0916-series X-axis linear motor, which should deliver more precise haptic feedback. Other reported features include a dedicated display chip for enhanced gaming performance, a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, IP68 and IP69-rated dust and water resistance, a USB 3.2 port for faster data transfers, and an anti-reflective display coating.

The leak also sheds light on the phone’s camera hardware. The primary rear camera is reportedly being tested with the OmniVision OV50Q sensor. While the exact camera setup remains unknown, the inclusion of this sensor suggests that iQOO is aiming to improve imaging performance on its next flagship.

The discussion in the tipster’s comment section revealed a couple of additional details. When asked whether the iQOO 16 would feature four equally slim bezels, the tipster replied that it is “not certain,” indicating that the final design has not yet been locked in. Another user asked if the battery would reach 8,500mAh, to which the tipster responded that it would be “around 8,500mAh.” If accurate, this would make the iQOO 16 one of the largest-battery flagship smartphones on the market.

Interestingly, a Vivo device carrying the model number V2606A recently appeared in certification databases. While its identity has not been officially confirmed, previous speculation suggests it could belong to either the Vivo X500 series or the upcoming iQOO 16. More concrete details are expected to emerge in the coming weeks.
