As per the latest information from Kuai Technology on July 16, Xiaomi is gearing up to release several new products in August, including the highly anticipated folding screen device and the K60 Extreme Edition. Additionally, a remarkably cost-effective tablet called the Redmi Pad 2 will also be introduced.
Certification details indicate that the tablet will support 22.5W/18W fast charging and is expected to target the entry-level market segment, with a price tag below 1,000 yuan.
The previous generation Redmi Pad gained significant popularity due to its exceptional cost-performance ratio, providing an all-metal body, a 2K LCD screen, and support for a 90Hz refresh rate, making it highly suitable for online classes and video streaming.
It is expected that the new Redmi Pad 2 will retain the 2K LCD display solution, with a possible upgrade to a 120Hz refresh rate, although it is more likely to maintain the 90Hz refresh rate.
The primary reason for this is that the tablet’s core processor will be upgraded from the previous generation’s MediaTek Helio G99 to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680, which does not support 2K 120Hz display output.
According to the certification, the Redmi Pad 2 will be available in three memory configurations: 4GB+64GB, 4GB+128GB, and 6GB+128GB. While there might not be a high-capacity storage version, the previous generation Redmi Pad supported expandable memory via an external memory card slot on the frame, supporting up to 1TB capacity. It is expected that this feature will be retained in the new model.
Please note that the information provided is based on available reports, and official specifications may vary upon the tablet’s official release.
