New information about the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge has surfaced, with tipster Ice Universe revealing key details about its camera and battery. Meanwhile, SmartPrix and OnLeaks have released a new post, correcting their earlier claims about the phone’s dimensions. The latest report suggests that the S25 Edge will be even slimmer than previously expected, making it one of the thinnest flagship smartphones ever.
Camera and battery details leaked
According to Ice Universe, the Galaxy S25 Edge will feature a 200MP HP2 primary camera and a 12MP ultra-wide sensor, but it will lack a dedicated telephoto lens. Samsung appears to be relying on the high-resolution HP2 sensor for all zoom functions, a decision that could impact optical zoom quality. The tipster also confirmed that the phone will house a 3,900mAh battery, raising concerns about battery life, given the device’s ultra-slim design.
Revised dimensions: even slimmer than expected
SmartPrix and OnLeaks had initially reported different dimensions for the Galaxy S25 Edge, but their latest post now claims that the phone will measure 158.2 x 75.5 x 5.84 mm. This makes it significantly thinner than any previous Galaxy S-series device. While the slim profile enhances aesthetics and portability, it also suggests potential trade-offs in battery capacity and thermal management.
The publication noted that the S25 Edge’s ultra-slim design results in a noticeable camera bump, bringing the total thickness to 10mm. To minimise its impact, Samsung has used an elongated camera module that visually blends with the frame.
Our opinion
Samsung’s decision to make the S25 Edge ultra-slim is bold, but it comes with compromises, particularly in battery capacity and the absence of a dedicated telephoto lens. While the 200MP HP2 sensor could compensate for the lack of optical zoom, real-world performance will be key in determining whether this trade-off is worth it.
