Sony Xperia Z ran into some rough weather with people complaining of Sudden Death for their phones, with their devices going off without explanation. Most users began to complain that Xpeia Z shut down mid-way, even though there is enough battery power. The problem seems to have aggravated when the phone couldn’t be turned back on, making people wonder if they have to plug in the charger.

I charged it fully last time and have just used this phone for only 5 minutes ago It suddenly turned off and it doesn’t seem to turn on. “ One does not know what is the reason for Sudden Death issue for Xperia Z, whether it is a hardware problem, the battery issue or the water resistance feature.
Sony, however, has acknowledged the issue and said that they are coming out with a fix that will be implemented in the next software update. However, they have not revealed the date, when this would happen.
Fortunately, Sony has already acknowledged the problem and said a “fix for this will be implemented in next software update”, but stopped short of offering an ETA as to when this might happen. The build number for the update is 10.1.A.1.434, the Android version is the same 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and the Kernel is also the the same – 3.4.0. Sony will release the update in phases both through the PC Companion app and over-the-air. You can check both for the update and if you do not get it already, it should be available in a few days.
