Here is the list of the most popular Android tablets in the world. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7 has emerged as the most popular tablet with 11.8 percent of the market share followed by Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 notching 8.3 % market share. The study carried out by Animoca, an app publishing company for Android entertainment products said that mostly people prefer to use 7 inch tablets compared to 10 inch one. The 10 inch tablet may be ‘big’ but the 7 inch tablet has a perfect balance of affordability and portability.
Animoca gave out its results from a study conducted on 9,78,000 monthly users. After the two Samsung tablets, the third and fourth in line for the most popular Android tablets were Amazon Kindle Fire and Amazon Kindle Fire HD, which earned 7.5 percent and 4.9 percent of the market share respectively. The fifth place is taken by Google Nexus 7 which earns 38 percent of the market-share and the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 gets the 7th place with 3 percent of the market share. The rest of the tablets get less than 1 percent of the market share.
As mentioned above, one of the major reasons for best selling tablets in the world to be 7-inch ones is because they are available for $200 or less. HP is now planning to release an Android tablet HP Slate 7 for $169. So popular is the 7-inch market that Microsoft is also ready with its 7-inch Surface tablets. Apple already splashed the market with its iPad Mini, all of 7 inches. It will be interesting to note what happens if companies reduce the cost of 7 inch tablets.
