Pekka Rantala, the Marketing Director with HMD Global that manufacturers and sells Nokia branded smartphones has confirmed during a recent interview with Mobiili.fi, a Finnish publication that Nokia won’t be releasing any Android tablets this year. However, when he was asked about Nokia 9’s existence, he said that it is logical for Nokia to continue to release smartphones with names following Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6. Hence, he added that Nokia 7, Nokia 8 and Nokia 2 can be future smartphones, but there won’t be Nokia 4 as the number 4 is a considered unlucky in some Asian nations such as China. Now, a leaked brochure of the alleged Nokia 8 has surfaced which suggest that the company may launch it the coming months.
The above image show that the smartphone has curved edges at the front as well as on its rear. The bottom side of the phone has what appears to be a USB-C port separating a pair of external speakers. The Chinese text on the image states that it will be equipped with an iris scanner. The artistic metal diamond carving technology employed on Huawei P10 will be also used for designing the Nokia 8.
The second image is a bit blurry but it showcases the alleged Nokia 8 with a screen with almost no bezels. The top bezel will probably house the iris scanner and there is a Nokia logo on the bottom bezel. It cannot confirmed that these images really belong to Nokia 8. Hence, we suggest our readers to take this report only as a rumor.
