Recent rumors have revealed that the MIUI 9 will be debuting on July 26. Last year, Xiaomi had had the launched the MUI 8 with Xiaomi Mi Max phone. The MIUI was speculated to debut with MIUI 9 with Xiaomi Mi Max 2. However, the phablet was launched in June without MIUI 9 in tow. Fresh information suggests that it would be debuting on July 26. It has been revealed on the official Weibo account of Xiaomi that the Xiaomi 5X would be launching on July 26.
Xiaomi has signed up Kris Wu, a Chinese celebrity to endorse the Mi 5X. The smartphone is expected to come with a full metallic chassis. Its antenna bands are present on the top and bottom edges of the rear panel. The fingerprint scanner is placed on the rear. It is equipped with dual rear cameras. Leaked information suggests that the Mi 5X would be coming with a 5.5-inch FHD display, a Snapdragon 625 chipset and 4 GB RAM. It will be costing 1,999 Yuan (~$295).
Speculations also indicate that it may feature a higher version featuring Snapdragon 660 chipset and 6 GB of RAM. As far as MIUI 9 update is concerned, it is expected to come with redesigned icons, new wallpapers, PIP mode and split-screen feature. The arrival of the Xiaomi Mi 5X will coincide with Meizu PRO 7 that will be also debuting on July 26.
